LGBT WeekSM is an "open source" mosaic of events and activities, produced and hosted by various LGBT-dedicated organizations. Focusing on a week in New York City facilitates a synergy among the events and organizers that isn't otherwise available. For example, we are working with the NGLCC to produce a 1/2-day workshop regarding certification and business tools for success, as well as a joint networking reception. We are also working with the IGLTA to produce a 1/2-day LGBT Travel Symposium. In years past, oSTEM partnered with Credit Suisse to produce a Monday evening panel on Talent in Modern FinTech, StartOut produced an LGBT Women's Business Event, and Out Professionals scheduled their LGBT Tech mixer event to be held during LGBT Week. These events are cross-promoted to all the other LGBT Week events, expanding awareness and participation. We're happy to consider all content contributors! The audience to our most recent NYC event ranged from small businesses (we teamed up with the NGLCC-NY and other NYC LGBT business organizations in this segment) to larger corporate attendees including Toyota (from Los Angeles), Schwab, Prudential, American Airlines, Hilton, WNBA, Google and more. We expect a similar range of attendees in this expanded week-long format.
Our target markets are businesses large and small wishing to better understand, and make successful outreach to LGBT consumers. These businesses include participants from the corporate world, either looking to enter the LGBT market or to enhance their current outreach efforts in targeting the LGBT community. Individual participation also ranges from realtors to restaurant owners, retailers to event promoters. Also included in this mix are marketing, advertising and PR professionals looking to include the LGBT community on behalf of their clients' outreach.
Working together with partner LGBT organizations, we anticipate a modest 3rd year attendance of 500-750 for the LGBT Marketing, Advertising & New Media Week NYC event in 2017. This estimate is arrived at based on the size and typical attendance of the partner LGBT organizations' events they've held in NYC in recent years. It is also based on the additional draw both an expanded conference itinerary and higher caliber speakers brings to this week-long event.
In addition to the daytime events and conferences held during this week, evening receptions and networking mixers are planned as well, including those hosted by partners.
These conferences are heavily promoted throughout the year via direct e-mail, LinkedIn, and various social media LGBT business-to-business groups on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Twitter and more. The marketing strategy not only includes general, day- and event-specific marketing outreach, but also marketing outreach based on individual speakers, tapping into their networks of fans and influencers to broaden this conference's overall reach.
Event partners are also promoting these conferences, in conjunction with their events held during this time (for the week-long events in NYC). We also plan on our local partners, including our local LGBT Chamber partners, to promote this event to their membership base as well.
These conferences will also be physically promoted via printed flyers at the upcoming NGLCC Conference and CMI Conference.
